1. What might be the origin for emphasis on education? Who was the first one to uphold the status of education as the highest value? What's the reality of life in China that renders education most valuable.
2. How do the public schools carry out the policy emphasizing education? What are some of the specific policies and ways that officials and educators follow to make sure that education carries a lot of "weight" in one's career?
3. How successful or unsuccessful has the system been? Why ?
4. What are some of the advantages and disadvantages of the educational system in China?
5. How do you compare the Chinese and US education systems? What can each learn from the other, if anything?
